Lawrence V. Young

York, PA (May 2010) – Lawrence V. Young, bankruptcy attorney at CGA Law Firm, has been named by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as one of the top attorneys in the state for 2010. Each year, no more than 5 percent of the lawyers in the state receive this honor.

The selections for this esteemed list are made by the research team at Super Lawyers, which is a service of the Thomson Reuters Legal Division. Each year, the research team undertakes a rigorous multiphase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area and a good-standing and disciplinary check. The list of attorneys selected appears in thePennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine and the Philadelphia magazine.

Lawrence Young, an attorney for CGA Law Firm specializing in bankruptcy, is the only consumer bankruptcy specialist in York to be certified by the American Board of Certification. He is also one of the two Trustees appointed by the US Department of Justice to review all consumer bankruptcy filings for the Middle District of Pennsylvania that originate from York and Adams counties.

He is a past president of the York County Bar Association, the York County Bar Foundation, the Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association and Central Pennsylvania Legal Services. He has been an active member of the Pro Bono Committee of the Bar Association since 1993, serving as Committee Chair for much of that time. He has received awards for his pro bono contributions from both the York County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.
