American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 Update

On May 10, 2021, the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury) announced a Final Interim Rule and additional guidance on the use of funding that will be provided to local governments as a part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (Act). Under the Act, most municipalities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are considered non-entitlement units because they have populations of less than 50,000. COVID-19 Update: Paycheck Protection Program – Round 2

With the newly authorized Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (the “Act”), Congress has agreed to allot $284.5 billion to the Small Business Administration (SBA) for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is encouraging small business owners in rural locations across America to apply for their Rural Relief Small Business Grants program. The grant opened on on Monday, September 28 and will close on October 5 just before midnight, so if you are eligible you will need to apply this weekend. COVID-19 Update: Deferral period for the Employee Portion of the Social Security Withholding Tax Begins Today

Beginning today, employees within a certain pay threshold have the option to defer their Social Security witholding tax.
