COVID-19 Update: More COVID-19 Relief Announced

Small businesses received a bit of good news Thursday, April 3rd with two critical announcements for small businesses.  The SBA announced that they will relieve principal and interest obligations of SBA 7(a) borrowers for six months beginning with payments after March 27, 2020.   This will also apply to loans that have already taken a 6–month deferment, and payments shall begin at the conclusion of the deferment period unless the borrower chooses to have the payments begin sooner.  Further guidance will be forthcoming from SBA.  USDA also announced a temporary exception for lenders to offer a 180–day deferral fo USDA… read more »

COVID-19 Update: PIDA’s Working Capital Access Program (CWCA) The COVID-19 Working Capital Access Program (CWCA), administered by the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA), is making $60,000,000.00 in working capital loans available to vulnerable small businesses located within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The maximum loan amount per business is up to $100,000.00 to help the small business overcome a temporary loss of revenue. Governor Tom Wolf has ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses in PA to close their physical locations to slow the spread of COVID-19. The order was put in effect on Thursday, March 19th and updated on Saturday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 24. The Fall 2019 YRK Magazine featured an article about Caputo Brother’s Creamery owners, Rynn and David Caputo, and Attorney Mieke Driscoll. Caputo Brothers Creamery is the only cheesemaker in the United States that creates the fermented curds that can be stretched to make fresh and authentic mozzarella cheese.
