Each October the York County History Center celebrates its Colonial heritage by hosting an Oyster Festival in downtown York, PA. The inspiration for the History Center’s longest-running fundraiser began with the discovery of oyster shells during the archaeological dig behind the Golden Plough Tavern in the 1960s.
