Overview
John Robert Wilson joined CGA Law Firm in August of 2021. While his legal interests are varied, John provides legal services to Litigation, Bankruptcy, Government, and Education Law clients. From 2020 to 2021, John served as an Advisor for the Mason Veterans and Servicemembers Legal Clinic, where he represented clients in military proceedings, veterans’ appeals, and civil matters. In 2020, John clerked for the Honorable Paul W. Ishak at the Circuit Court for Harford County, Maryland, performing legal research and drafting written opinions for both criminal and civil matters.
John achieved his Juris Doctorate from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School in Arlington, Virginia. He was awarded the Scalia Law Merit Scholarship and honored to be instructed by Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch in Padua, Italy. During his first year of law school, John participated and won a school-wide Alternative Dispute Resolution competition and later represented his school in a national competition in Minnesota. John focused his legal studies on national security law and policy, serving as a research assistant to the National Security Institute and the Articles Selection Editor of the National Security Law Journal. He also served as the Vice President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Association and as a Board Member for the Trial Advocacy Association.
John received his Bachelor of Science in Cellular Biology from Bob Jones University in South Carolina, where he also minored in Communications. During his college years, John served as a biotechnology laboratory technician at the Edgewood Chemical Biological Center, performing research on immunoassay technology used to identify weaponized chemical agents to protect the US Warfighter. John also played four years of Division II college soccer for the Bob Jones University Bruins. His senior year, John captained a team that went on to win the 2016-17 national championship.
John was born in York WellSpan Hospital and has been a lifelong resident of York County. He attended K-12th grade just south of the Mason-Dixon line at Harford Christian School, where his father serves as the administrator. John is a member and lifelong attendee of the Reformation Bible Church in Darlington, Maryland.
