Scott A. Lovejoy Jr.

Overview

Scott A. Lovejoy Jr. is a member of CGA’s Litigation practice group representing individuals and businesses across a broad spectrum of litigation matters. Whether handling commercial contract issues, property conflicts, or civil claims, Scott uses rigorous case preparation to build negotiation leverage, positioning clients to secure favorable terms at the settlement table or prevail at trial. His practice includes:

• Business and Contract Disputes: Representing businesses, business owners, and individuals in disputes arising from contracts, business sales, and commercial relationships.
• Real Estate Litigation: Representing property owners in ejectment actions, easement disputes, and other conflicts over the ownership and use of real property.
• Civil Litigation: Representing individuals and businesses in a range of other civil matters in the courts of South Central Pennsylvania.

Before pursuing law, Scott spent a decade as a senior developer at Boston University, building and managing mission-critical applications and database systems. After earning his law degree, he practiced intellectual property litigation with Ropes & Gray in Boston, where he contributed to a favorable federal trial verdict in a breach of contract dispute and supported the litigation of multiple patent infringement matters. He then relocated to South Central Pennsylvania, where he further sharpened his courtroom skills as an assistant public defender in Dauphin County. There he appeared in court daily, argued motions, and tried cases to verdict while analyzing electronic evidence ranging from body cam footage to phone extraction data.

Scott earned his J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law, where he received CALI Awards in Electronic Evidence and Trademarks, placed 16th out of more than 6,000 competitors in the National Cyber League, a national cybersecurity competition, and took third place in the Penn State Nittany AI Challenge for building an AI-powered legal aid tool. He holds an M.F.A. in Film Production from Boston University and a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of Maine at Farmington. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

In his free time, Scott enjoys going on adventures with his wife Jennifer, daughter Rose, and Newfoundland dog Franklin. He is an ardent motorsports fan, terrible golfer, casual gamer,  and avid podcast listener.
