Introducing CGA Summer Associate, Courtney Buechler!
Courtney Buechler is a U.S. Army officer whose job is focused on protecting other service-members against threats of biological and chemical weapons, “dirty bombs,” and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). As a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Officer, Courtney is frequently called upon to share her scientific expertise with every type of unit in the Army. Courtney’s interest in law school was sparked while teaching Military Science at Texas Tech University. During her time there, The Judge Advocate of the United States Army (TJAG) was hosted for a campus visit and he discussed legal career paths as a military member.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and two Master’s Degrees (Public Health and Environmental Management), Courtney is an exceptional scholar who enjoys learning something new every day. She has just completed her second year at Penn State Dickinson Law, where her favorite classes include Negotiation/Mediations and Elder Law. When she is not working or studying, she enjoys running and playing with her rescue dog, Kota.
Originally from Centerville, South Dakota, Courtney appreciates the similarities between her home state and Pennsylvania. One similarity that has drawn her to York, PA, specifically CGA Law Firm is the importance of a community-driven atmosphere. In her spare time, Courtney volunteers in the drive-through portion of Carlisle’s Project Share Food Bank. Her eight years of active duty prepared her for the heavy lifting required, but a lifetime of care for others has prepared her heart for service.
