Supreme Court Hears Arguments on Biden Administration’s Student Loan Forgiveness Plan

Today in our nation’s capital, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in relation to the Biden administration’s student loan forgiveness plan (hereinafter, the “Plan”). The Court heard arguments in two different cases – Biden v. Nebraska and Department of Education v. Brown – both of which involve similar yet distinct factual backgrounds and issues of law that will impact the very future of this debt cancellation. CGA Law Firm Welcomes Intern Hunter Commins

Born in Spring Garden, Hunter has been a York Suburban School District student since kindergarten. Her favorite subjects are history and English. She is drawn to historical studies because she can glimpse the past and hypothesize how today’s actions may impact future generations. She appreciates English because it allows her to step out of her own reality into someone else’s life. Frank H. Countess was elected Chair of the Board of Directors for the York Country Day School. Frank was named one of the 300 Life Members of the York County Agricultural Society, which runs the York State Fair, the oldest state fair in the United States founded in 1765. Frank was also recently appointed to his third successive 4-year term on the York City Redevelopment Authority Board by Mayor Michael J. Mollie comes to CGA Law Firm from the York County District Attorney’s Office where she worked as a Paralegal in the Special Crimes Unit. The Special Crimes Unit handles pre-charge through post-sentencing of all sex crimes prosecuted by the Office of the District Attorney. She found the work challenging, constantly changing, and intellectually stimulating and took pride in protecting the community and upholding its values. On June 23, 2022, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the U.S. Department of Education released its proposed changes to the existing regulations, inviting public comment. The proposed rule is the result of a comprehensive review of Title IX regulations that began in March 2021.  The proposed changes to the regulations include, but are not limited to, the following: Protection for students and employees from all forms of sex discrimination and sex-based harassment.
