SightLines – A Free Appell Center Open House Experience

SightLines is an all-access pass to the downtown York stages – an evening to celebrate talent while celebrating an amazing season to come. Join them for a night packed with entertainment!
IN THE STRAND THEATRE:
4:30PM – GATHER for a Community Happy Hour (Sign-up required: https://form.jotform.com/222135899835064)
5:00PM – DANCE All-Levels Dance Class
5:45PM – YWCA TEMPLE GUARD
6:00PM – THE STRAND SING-OFF
This community singing competition for people 25 and younger will be on the Strand Theatre stage. Cheer on the top ten singers for their chance to win $150 cash! Hosted by CoCo Shantelle.
IN THE CAPITOL THEATRE:
6:00PM – THE SHIP PHOTOGRAPHY PREMIER
Stroll through a celebratory reveal of the combined efforts of 4 local photographers, 10 creative leaders, and 20 contributing apprentices brought together by Older & Wiser Co. This showing is an invitation to exclusively preview 4 unique “life sized playing card” concepts executed by aspiring artists in the community.
7:00PM – GRRRL JUSTICE FILM TALK
Grrrl Justice is a short narrative film that examines how traumatic backgrounds attach young people to systems that criminalize them rather than alleviate the impacts of systemic oppression in their lives. After viewing the 16 minute film, join Crystal Perry, Human Advocacy Trafficking Coordinator with the YWCA, and Teasia Gray, Youth Counselor with the York County Youth Development Center, for a conversation about bringing these topics back to York.

Get a special preview of Creative York’s Youth Art Exhibition, a display of over 70 works of visual art from talented local youth.
