The Griffiths Salvation Army Scholarship launched this year with a $10,000 scholarship presented to a York High senior at the York High Awards Ceremony last evening. The recipient plans to attend Morgan State University to study nursing. Major Babbitt presented the scholarship. Rees and Sue’s estate plans provide that 80 percent of their estate goes to awarding similar scholarships to high achieving students with clear financial need. They established the program early to ensure they could celebrate the scholarships with the recipients and make certain the process worked smoothly while they are still around. CGA Attorneys Recognized at YCBA Annual Dinner
The York County (PA) Bar Association/York County Bar Foundation held its Annual Dinner this past week. Judge John Uhler was installed as President of the Bar Foundation. Attorney Liliana Fisher received one of the Annual Pro Bono Awards given for exceptional Pro Bono Service in 2020, and Attorney Larry Young presented her with the award. Attorneys John Flinchbaugh and Pete Solymos were recognized as 50 year YCBA members. Attorneys Rees Griffiths and Dan Fennick were recognized as having retired.
